In this video, I talk about my experience with braces and the trumpet. In high school, I had braces on for about a year and a half. Throughout that time, I picked up several tips and new perspectives on learning to play trumpet before, during, and after braces. From starting softly with the mouthpiece to redeveloping your tone to building up endurance, there are many factors to take into account when relearning the trumpet with braces.

Improving Flexibility on the Trumpet
In this video, I discuss the importance of flexibility on the trumpet and ways to improve it. Tone, control, embouchure stabilization, and of course range and endurance can all benefit from simple lip slur exercises that are demonstrated in the video. I only focus on slip slurs in this video, but there are several other ways of practicing flexibility that you should explore and practice.
